Last May 2023, Matimco’s GSA (Grand Stallion Awards) recipients are privileged to enjoy an all-expense paid incentive trip to Puerto Princesa. Accompanied by the Business Management Team (Ms. Marjorie Carrasco and Ms. Eileen Jover) together with the Head for Workforce Planning & Development (Mr. Denn Velasco), 15 awardees experienced the breathtaking views of Puerto Princesa and enjoyed the luxurious offering of their 5-star hotel accommodation. This initiative is part of Matimco’s commitment to enhance employee experience by demonstrating appreciation and recognition through well-deserved incentives for talent’s unwavering dedication to their craft.

For more than a decade now, The GRAND STALION AWARDS (GSA) is a program designed to acknowledge and reward the exceptional efforts of Matimco employees. This program aims to honor Stewards who have demonstrated outstanding performance and exemplary adherence to MATIMCO’s core values of Integrity, Teamwork, Agility, and Passion for Wood & Stewardship Culture (ITAP Matimco). These recognitions are presented through the prestigious Founders’ Award and President’s award along with a travel incentive.

MATIMCO RUNS ALPHA IN THE WORKPLACE

ALPHA IN THE WORKPLACE is a spiritual development program designed through a 12 week-series of fun, interactive sessions designed to create conversations, where anyone can come to explore the meaning of life and basics of Christianity in a way that is authentic and safe. The program is facilitated by ALPHA Philippines together with internal employees of Matimco.

Members of the Business Management Team (BMT) who are involved in the facilitation of Alpha in the Workplace for Matimco, led by Mr. Charlie H. Liu, attended the Alpha Regional Gathering (ARG) 2023 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia last June 12 – 14

The Alpha Asia Pacific Regional Gathering (ARG23) is one of our annual strategic initiatives of Alpha to serve the region. In this week-long event, pastors and leaders are invited and gathered to KL where series of events are facilitated to inspire churches to explore and run Alpha, serve church leaders in developing leadership and provide space for networking and sharing of best practices.

This is the most important week in the regional calendar and through the years, Alpha have hosted hundreds of church pastors and leaders who then go home to run Alphas, reaching many more with the good news through Alpha.

This 2023, the physical gathering physically was held for the second time since the global pandemic hit. In this season of emergence, we look forward to hearing from God together, to reignite hope, to rebuild the foundations of the church, and together explore the opportunities that God is opening to us out of the challenges of the pandemic season.

As Alpha in the workplace in Matimco progresses, A great change in the perspective of its employees is noticeable. On October 21, 2023, employees from the 3rd batch joyfully finished the course and Matimco is now ready to embark the course with Batch 4.

Last January 13, we celebrated the Feast of our Patron, Senyor Santo Nino which has been our organization’s long time tradition of expressing our gratitude and faith to the holy image of the Child Jesus, Sto. Nino. This practice is deeply rooted by the devotion of our beloved founders Knight Leo Lim Liu and Dame Norma Liu.

For decades, we consistently celebrated the feast day through processions and simple Sinulog presentations such as the traditional dance offering to Santo Nino participated by our community.

This year our celebration started with a Holy Eucharistic celebration presided by Monsignor Joseph Tan followed by a simple ceremony for the Santo Nino which includes a song number and Sinulog dance offering all performed by our Matimco Talents. The day ended with simple snacks and a gathering.
